There was a time in where Karns High School, outdoor school lunches were where students could go outside to get some fresh air and eat instead of being indoors. However they unfortunately stopped that from going on. Many students are disappointed. They believe the school administration should have never gotten rid of being able to eat outside.
¨The school should have kept outdoor lunches because um it gives students more seat options and it also, um gives more people an opportunity to socialize more, to have more freedom,” Lexi Cook said.
¨Yeah no, outdoor lunches need to come back, um it is kind of boring for us to not be able to have the right to eat outside and enjoy,” Alena Findley said.
Allowing students to eat outside gives students the opportunity to feel less cramped up and to feel more relaxed, without having to worry about how loud the cafeteria can get sometimes. Students think having lunch outside is better and fun because of how nice the weather has gotten recently.
¨Yea no, the school should have kept the eating outside a thing, because right now is a good time to eat out and enjoy, especially with friends,” Jazmine Mora said.
Having lunch outside benefits many friend groups providing a positive experience, To where friends can spend a happier, quieter time to where they do not need to feel interrupted because of the loud noises. This month started getting warmer, which is a perfect time to be able to enjoy the cool wind.
Going around the school, asking people whether they prefer eating lunch outside or inside, made me realize that a lot of people prefer eating outside especially when it is good weather.
¨I prefer it being outside then inside because it is more comfortable and quieter, not noisy at all,” Allison Bergin Said.
Many students in Karns prefer to eat outside, because for the people that are not so social, it helps them feel more comfortable and enjoy lunch. There was a time where students were allowed to enjoy the privilege of being able to enjoy lunch outdoors, however it is unfortunately gone. Many students are overwhelmed and believe the school administration should have never gotten rid of that option.
