“The sixth grade orchestra is going to play Impulse, Arco-ology, and Dragon Slayer.” Taliyha Armstrong, a violist said.
Everyone is looking forward to the concert. The concert will showcase the talents of 89 student musicians playing a variety of instruments, including, violins, violas, cellos, and more. These talented students have been working hard in rehearsals to bring these beautiful pieces to life. The day before the concert, Monday, April 14th the students are going to do a Master Rehearsal. It’s exciting to see students from sixth grade all the way up to high school collaborating on this special musical event.

“I am excited about all the students playing together because we all have different skills and we’re on different levels,I’m also excited about playing our pieces because we didn’t have a fall concert and these pieces deserve to be played in public.”
” Lucy Palk, another violist said.
The orchestra director, Mr. Ramos has been working hard with all the different orchestras, guiding their rehearsals and helping them perfect their pieces. The high school orchestra has been dedicated to their music since the fall semester, spending many hours learning and refining their five challenging pieces. While many of the orchestral pieces focus on the group sound, a few talented students will also have the chance to shine with special solo performances. Playing without a solo can be just as challenging as having one, as every musician needs to work together to create a unified and beautiful sound. The pieces featuring solos are especially exciting, as they allow individual musicians to showcase their skills within the larger orchestral performance.
“There are solos,” In the piece, Two Scenes from the Hollow, there are four solos. The Concertmaster, Principal Violin II, Principal Viola, and Principal Cello all have solos in the second movement of the piece.” Jordan Valentine, a double bassist said
Interestingly, all the pieces the orchestra will be performing share a common thread: they draw inspiration from the fascinating worlds of medieval times and ancient mythology. While sharing the themes of medieval times and mythology, the selected pieces promise a diverse range of musical interpretations of these captivating subjects.
“All the songs that the orchestras are going to play are from the medieval times,” “All of the pieces sound medieval and they are from mythology too.” Dallas Sikarng, a cellist said.
