The Karns soccer team aren’t just playing games, they’re making statements. The boys soccer team has had an amazing season. The team is building momentum and confidence as they fight to the top of the district. 

“We’ve underperformed the last two or three tournaments,” said Coach Gallagher, “We’ve been down but we’ve been a good district team in the big view and we’re trying to claw our way back into that.”

This climb has been powered by two amazing teams. The main team and the junior varsity team. The junior team especially has been putting in amazing effort the last few games. 

“The reserve or junior team, they’ve had a great season,” said Coach Gallagher, “They rarely lose… they’re really, really good.”

The team has won and lost many games but within those they’ve had a few standout ones. For example on May 5th they had a 2 – 0 game against Powell. They are currently in the middle of their district tournament. The players believe they have a shot at winning the tournament. 

“Like we said, the Webb game, they destroyed Webb, they destroyed Campbell County. They had a really good show in the tournament at South Doyle. I mean, they were impressive.” said gallagher 

Beyond the stats the team also has incredible spirit. Some have said the most fun thing you can do is join a team, it’s like a family. Everyone on the team supports each other during their ups and downs.

“It’s a really good atmosphere,” said Camden Thomas, “Just being out there on the field with everybody… having a good time and going to the game.”

This year the team has had amazing teamwork, chemistry and effort. During the webb game the Karns team was constantly on the attack and Camden was able to make multiple saves because his teammates helped.

Many have said that joining the soccer team or any other team at Karns is one of the best and most fun things you can do. With the district tournament coming to an end soon the best thing we can do is wish them good luck.
