Students at Karns made sure to enjoy their day off on Labor Day, on September 7th, through plenty of fun activities. Some used the day as a relaxational outlet, watching their favorite comfort shows or spending time with their family.

“… I cuddled with my cat, watched some movies,” Scott Hall said, “It was chill… I went to the lake… Also that week I had a marching band game…”

Labor Day is celebrated in many different ways. Like many others, Scot Hall took the relaxing approach to his day.

 “I was in my bed sleeping,“ Kylee Goodman said, “ I was dreaming about things I was dreaming about in my sleep.” 

Some may see Goodman’s style to be boring but that’s the beauty of a nice day off, you can spend it in any way you want. While many are leisurely, some choose to be proactive and get things done such as work or running errands.

“I played video games and did chores around my house,” a freshman who referred to himself only as Nicholas said, “I washed my clothes, cleaned the cat box and I vacuumed.”

Nicholas had a nice mix of productivity and enjoyment. Others spent their Labor Day weekend doing very chaotic things. Like going out or doing sports 

“I got thrown off a horse because someone slapped his butt with a whip… at my friend’s house,” Tegan Krous said.

Whether it is fun or boring, Labor Day is celebrated in many different ways depending on the person.
