Students, families and faculty filled the bleachers at Karns High School’s football field for Senior Night on Friday, October 10, 2025.The event served as both a celebration and a farewell, as the Class of 2026 was honored before the final home game of their high school careers.
The ceremony brought together seniors from all across the school community, including the athletes, cheerleaders, band, and color guard performers, etc. Each was recognized for their years of dedication and involvement throughout their time at Karns.
Senior Night has become an important tradition in the Karns community — a small moment during the busy school year dedicated to celebrating the accomplishments of senior students. It provides a chance for staff, families and underclassmen to come together and honor their graduating class.
As names were announced seniors walked across the field, alongside parents and siblings, while the crowd cheered from the stands. Coaches and teachers lined the sidelines to greet students, offering hugs, handshakes and congratulations. Families waved homemade posters, some holding cardboard cutouts of their favorite seniors, others capturing every moment with their cameras.
Once the precession ended, seniors returned to the stands as the band played, marking the start of the night’s football game.
“It was kind of surreal,” said Karley Jones, a senior on the colorguard team, “I remember watching last year’s seniors walk, and I kinda really came to terms with the fact that I’m leaving.”
This year’s Senior Night was extra significant, not only because of the ceremony itself, but it also marked the final home performance and home game for the Class of 2026. For many it was potentially the last time they would stand together on their home field before graduation, the place where they had practiced, performed and competed for 4 years.
Under the stadium lights, the Karns Beavers faced Morristown East winning 51 – 12 delivering a memorable end to the season’s home games and giving the seniors on the football team a final win on their turf.
“It was very fun, even though it was very emotional, it made me excited to start my next chapter in life and it was really nice to end the night with a win,” said Jailyn Foulks, another colorguard senior.
After the game, families gathered on the track for photos and hugs, the field slowly emptied, leaving behind scattered confetti, discarded soda cans, and lingering conversation. For many, the night was not only the end of a season, but the beginning of their final months of high school.
In just a few months, the Class of 2026 will trade their jerseys and uniforms for caps and gowns. But for one last Friday night, stood together under the lights, celebrating memories that will follow them long after graduation.
