These are some of the wonderful car show fans, the host of the car show, James Kelso, and culinary arts teacher, Jacob Neblett. Many others are excited for this upcoming car show, showing off their rides as the best car and winning first prize.
“There are trophies and awards given in several different classes,” Kelso said, “Plus Sponsor Giveaways.”
Some tips for winning some prizes in a car show are cleaning and detailing your car thoroughly inside and out, bring extra supplies like cleaners for final touch ups, checking your vehicle before the car show to make sure everything is to your liking, be professional and stray away from negative comments, and to dress for the weather.
“We will be serving Breakfast Burritos, Pulled Pork BBQ, Nachos, Brownies, Drinks and a ton of other treats,” Neb said.
A famous local car show in Tennessee is Harper Auto Square’s Cars & Coffee. It was planned to happen on October 19, 2025 as a reschedule from the July 13, 2025 car show, but it got rescheduled again and its new rescheduled date is October 26, 2025.
“We participated in the car show because it’s an excellent fund raiser for our program while giving my students opportunities to work with the public,” Neb said.
Car shows have been around since November 3, 1900 where the first car show was hosted in New York at Madison Square Garden. It was considered the first all automobile show in the U.S., featuring 160 vehicles and 66 exhibitors. It was hosted by the original “Automotive Club of America” which was founded on June 7, 1899 in New York. Forward to last year when MLR at Byington Career Technical Education Center started up The Beaver Creek Car Show to raise funds for the CTE classes. It brought together the karns community and let everyone show off their knowledge on cars and their cool rides.
