Karns Beavers started off their football season against the Hardin Valley Academy Hawks on Friday, August 22. The Beavers only played one half before the game was rained out. The game was finished on Saturday, August 23. The Beavers took a loss, losing 25-45. Karns Beavers have since played the South-Doyle High School Cherokees. The Beavers had a strong start, yet lost the game 21-31.
The Beavers faced off against the Campbell County High School Cougars on Friday, September 5, gaining their first win of the season. The Cougars were previously 0-2. After a rough first drive, the Beavers bounced back, Chris Boyce scoring a touchdown on a long run. Head Coach, Lee Warren, has high hopes for the season ahead.
“We’re trying to make sure that we play hard no matter the score, our record, or circumstances.” Warren said.
Warren’s hopes were put into action against Campbell County heading into the second quarter. Cameron George scored two touchdowns with Alexis Maciejewski kicking the extra point for both.
The third quarter started off strong with a touchdown by Tymir Parker. The Cougar’s punt was blocked by #31 on the Karns side. The quarter ended with a safety, earning the Beavers two extra points.
A field goal was scored on either side during the fourth quarter, leaving the score at 37-3. Alexis Maciejewski went five-for-five kicking extra points. All in all, the Beavers dominated over the Cougars.
