Netflix can be a great escape tool for those who are stuck at home over fall break.

Fall break is normally a small vacation from the stress of school. Students take advantage of the relieve by taking a trip, visiting family, or hanging out with friends. With the current events – *ahem ahem* Covid-19 – following the normal is simply impossible. Bingeing on a new and interesting show can fill the empty lull of activities. Luckily this month is bringing a sack full of new shows and movies across multiple streaming platforms.

For those interested in indulging in the spooky atmosphere of this upcoming Halloween, The Haunting of Bly Manor is a good place to start. Coming to Netflix October 9th, the day Fall Break starts. This spooky web series would pair perfectly with apple cider and a fuzzy blanket to hide under. More shows debuting on Netflix Hube Halloween, October 7th, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, October 15th, and Enola Holmes suit those seeking a more lighthearted take on the Halloween theme.

For those entertaining an audience too young for the aforementioned media, the arrival of Over the Moon, Yogi Bear, The Croods, and Smurfs 2 should entertain young children for hours.

A shortlist of media from Netflix with the release date and genre is listed below-

  • Sword Art Online, Season 3, October 1st, Action Anime
  • Rebecca. October 21st, Psychological
  • Deaf U, Season 1, October 9th, Docusoap
  • David Attenborough: A Life on Our Planet, October 4th, Documentary
  • The Worst Witch, Season 4, October 1st, Feel-Good
  • Dream Home Makeover, Season 1, October 16th, Reality TV
  • Dolly Parton, October 6th, Music Documentary
  • Hunt for the Wilder People, October 1st, Dramedy

However; not everyone is in possession of a Netflix subscription. Heading over to Hulu, where things are literally greener, the other streaming service has no shortage of releases of its own. Including a variety of Halloween themed shows and movies as well. On October 2nd Hulu released numerous Food Network Halloween shows: Halloween Wars, Halloween Baking Championship, and All-Star Halloween Spectacular.

Bingers of Trashy day-time Reality television will find themselves delighted when they discover Hulu’s October 1st release of new seasons for multiple Reality TV shows. This release includes: 90 Day Fiance: Before the 90 Days- Season 4, 90 Day Fiance – Season 7, Bride Killa- Season 1, Cutthroat Kitchen- Season 13, Dr. Pimple Popper- Season 4, Guy’s Grocery Games- Seasons 18-20, My 600-lb Life- Season 8, etc.

And for those who are traveling this fall break, remember to social distance and wear a mask. Have fun, stay safe, and have a happy fall break- no matter what your plans are.
