The Karns High School Wrestling Team is always evolving. This year is Coach Fendley’s first year as head coach, and some seniors last year of wrestling. It is also an opportunity for freshmen to go to the State Wrestling Tournament for the first time. In previous years as many as four members of the team had made it to state; however, this year 10 guys have accomplished this achievement. Their names are: Michael Crowe, Brandon Gray, Seth Premo, Candon Price, Ethan Narro, Andy Ingram, Fletcher Power, Caleb Charlton, Cole Hubbard, and Owen Sullivan.
This year will be Senior Ethan Narro’s fourth year going to state, but this time it is different. This year he is going with a gaggle of underclassmen. Narro said, “I’m excited, to feel capable to do good at state,” when asked about what it’s like going to state for the fourth time. For Coach Fendley being at state is a valuable learning experience,“[It is a] great opportunity to see what it takes to succeed at the State Wrestling Tournament,” he said. He has been prominent in getting the wrestling team exposure by getting them a Senior Night, two home matches, and a walkout before their last practice.

Even though none of the Karns team members placed at state, we are still incredibly proud of them. We will hope for an even better wrestling season next year.
